40 mins strength and conditioning followed by 20 mins on the @pulseroll . Urghhh, my legs are still feeling this weeks two big rides, so I was not enjoying the goblet squats tonight 😣. Still very much enjoying the rolling, getting right in to the thighs and glutes to relieve some of that soreness. Worked a charm!! . So the workout tonight was 3 sets of 12 reps, 30secs rest between each 2 and 2mins rest between sets . Goblet Squat. Weighted Lunge. . Step up. Push up. . Ab crunch. Weighted Russian twist 6es. . Stability superman (ball under knee). Clam. . Weighted single left deadlift Calf raises. . I've added some more stability moves, shamelessly stolen from @zenergyactive - placing a ball under a foot or knee to really engage the core on some of these moves! . NIGHT RIDER. . So last night was my first solo night adventure - a planned century out to Richmond Park and back. . On the whole I really enjoyed it, there are lots of positives about cycling at night. But by 3am I was so wet and cold I couldn't even contemplate doing the additional mile and a half to hit the metric century. The picture was meant to be different but my hands were numb and my brain was starting to wander...so much so I left the keys in the door and went to bed. . Why? Well if you want to test yourself against the best, you have to add specificity to your training. Theres no point going to an ultra and not being confident and comfortable cycling at night and fatigued. .
